27, 2020 - Naturopathy and massage therapy
venture, CK Health and Wellbeing, has been named among the regional winners of
Hunter Business Awards 2020.
The
award-winning clinic, which services communities across Newcastle, Hunter and
Lake Macquaries, has won the Micro Business of
the Year 2020 award for the Hunter Region.
CK Health and Wellbeing was named among the award winners at an awards night on November
20 at Civic Theatre. The awards, across 17 categories, were organised by the
Hunter Business Chamber and sponsored by the University of Newcastle.
CK
Health is located in Merewether and provides clinical nutrition, herbal
medicine, lifestyle counselling, and functional medicine.
CK
Health helps people who value their well-being, yet may struggle with things
such as; IBS, digestive problems, skin problems, fatigue, arthritis, thyroid
conditions; fibromyalgia, digestive health, autoimmune conditions, microbiome
balancing (parasites), anxiety and stress management, dermatitis, eczema and
more.
Cody
Kennedy, CK Health's Principal Naturopath, spoke of her delight at winning the
award, which further reflected the business' reputation as a passionate, caring
venture.
Chamber
President Tony Rhodes congratulated winners and finalists on their resilience
and entrepreneurship in what has been the most challenging of years for
business owners.
He
added: "Winning a Hunter Business Award in any year is a significant
achievement. In 2020, the year of COVID, bushfires, drought and many other
challenges, it is all the more remarkable."
Cody has
also recently completed an honours degree in Complementary Medicines
Management, along with a Graduate Diploma in Evidence-Based Medicine.
A holder
of an Advanced Diplomas in Naturopathy, Western Herbal Medicine, Homoeopathy
and Nutrition, she is also a member of the Australian Traditional Medicine
Society.
She
said: "I like to work in such a way that your body is given the best
chance to heal itself. Health is a combination of past medical history,
lifestyle, genetics, environment and constitutional limitations. I consider all
of these things when determining your treatment plan.
"Sometimes
it's just a matter of learning simple things and applying them in daily life to
improve health. I like to help clients get back to enjoying everything life has
to offer. Together we work towards making their health goals a reality."
