Discover More About Santorini With This new Travel App

Santorini Greece  - August 16, 2019 - A fantastic new app for tourists unveiling the delights of Santorini Island in Greece has just been unveiled.

Santorini is one of the Cyclades islands in the Aegean Sea and was devastated by a volcanic eruption in the 16th century BC, forever shaping its rugged landscape.

The whitewashed, cubiform houses of its two principal towns, Fira and Oia, cling to cliffs above an underwater caldera (crater). They overlook the sea, small islands to the west and beaches made up of black, red and white lava pebbles.

The Augmented Reality (AR) app for Santorini is now out and available for iOS and Android. And it's free.

The app has two different AR sections. The first is the AR Geo Scan which you can use to see what's around you through your device's camera.

Point of Interest markers appear highlighting things around you such as beaches, banks, bus stops, villages, museums, sights and attractions and much more.

The second AR section is the AR Map Scan that works with the free Santorini AR Map which can be found at locations all around the island, including at the Santorini ferry departure gates in the Port of Piraeus. Users can use the app to scan parts of the map and bring it to life.

As well as the AR features, the app is a complete travel guide to the island of Santorini and includes lots of useful information on things such as beaches, villages, churches, sights and attractions, entertainment, and much more.

The Santorini AR App is a truly unique app and is the first dedicated Augmented Reality application for Santorini.

Through the powerful Augmented Reality technology that was used during the development, Santorini AR brings a truly unique experience and is the ideal travel companion on Santorini.

You can find more about the app on the website - https://www.santoriniar.com or email them atpr@santoriniar.com
