Orange County Fertility Clinic Offers Free Virtual Fertility Consultations, Adding Night and Weekend Hours

The coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to disrupt our lives in unimaginable ways. Reproductive Health and Wellness Center wants you to know that our first priority is the health and safety of our patients, their families, and our community at large.

  

This week the American Society for Reproductive Medicine’s (ASRM) issued guidelines in response to COVID-19. Unfortunately, they are asking all fertility clinics to not start any new fertility treatment cycles and they are promising to give us an update by March 30, 2020.  

As we comply with these guidelines, we also understand that your fertility does not take a pause. 

To that end, Reproductive Health and Wellness Center plans to remain the leader in 

comprehensive, boutique infertility care in Orange County. We are continuing to offer free consultations 

for all patients in Southern California now in a virtual format. We are also expanding our available 

consultation hours to include all weeknights and weekends for those of you that are busy at work or being a parent during the day. The virtual consultations offer crystal clear audio and video, patients can meet with Dr. Rosencrantz in the comfort of their own homes and offices, the format is privacy protected, and the feedback from patients thus far has been outstanding.  

The free virtual consultation includes the same as in-person. The only difference is online you get to have the fertility consultation from the comfort of your home or office. The online video consultation can be done on your computer, phone or tablet with a direct link we provide for you. This is all on a private remote video system that is HIPPA compliant.

One of the problems with heating and cooling systems is that they recycle the same air throughout the home continuously, he said, so once bacteria or mold grows inside the ductwork or HVAC system, it pretty much stays there until it’s eradicated. And UV-C light is one of the best ways to do that.

UV-C light units are typically installed in the ductwork of a home’s HVAC system, in the plenum just above the evaporator coil on a typical gas furnace/central air unit. UV-C light impedes the growth of fungus and mold in the coil, kills bacteria, viruses and other microbial organic growth in the airstream by disrupting the DNA and RNA of the organism, preventing it from reproducing and attaching to healthy tissue.

In addition to viruses, bacteria and mold, UV-C light also works to eliminate volatile organic compounds (VOCs), potentially toxic chemicals created as a by-product of construction of the home. They also help to eliminate cooking and pet odors in the home.

Ultraviolet-C germicidal light systems can help keep your household and family safer by preventing the spread of flu, rhinovirus and coronavirus through the home’s heating and ventilation system. Coronavirus is a family of viruses that tend to spread quickly, and can be transmitted through the air.

The recent outbreak of COVID-2019 coronavirus worldwide has brought the family of viruses to light. Neither the Centers for Disease Control nor the World Health Organization has explicitly recommended UV-C light systems to specifically prevent the spread of the COVID-C virus, its widespread use in medical facilities throughout North America should lend credence to its effectiveness.

Why are these other items important? Dirty, leaky ductwork, high levels of unwanted air infiltration, or higher-than-wanted indoor humidity levels can cause air quality problems independent of what’s going on inside your HVAC equipment.
